What to expect in Year 1 of the CAMC

The CAMC is a new and growing organization, but plans are in place to ensure we're providing immediate value to our members. Though some of these elements will grow considerably as more members join the CAMC; however, our founding members will be welcomed to the Association with opportunities in the near future.
- The resource portal is already open! Some CAMC-developed resources have been uploaded already, with more to come. There is also the opportunity for members to submit their own resources for review, to be shared with other members.
- Networking opportunities will begin in September 2024! At this time, networking will be held virtually, and will be facilitated to ensure the conversation moves forward effectively and that all have a voice at the table. Some networking will centre around specific topics for discussion amongst Members, while other opportunities will focus specific community size and type (ie. mid-sized municipalities) so that Members can share and discuss some of the challenges and solutions specific to their needs.
If there are specific topics any of our Members would like to be able to discuss with their Member peers, those can be submitted for consideration, as well. We want to ensure these networking opportunities are valuable to all of our Members, and by extension, to the execution of work for your community. - Professional DevelopmentĀ will begin in September 2024! These opportunities will focus on numerous topics specific or particularly relevant to local government, and will be facilitated by subject matter experts from across the country. At this time, all professional development sessions will be held virtually.
- Newsletters will be sent out beginning in August 2024, with pertinent industry information, news and updates; case studies to review; Q&A's; and more!
There are more benefits on the table for our Members, which will be launched laster in 2024 and into 2025, including the Mentorship Program for more experienced municipal communicators to support those who are newer to the industry and field; the accreditation program, which is 100% tailored to municipal communications; and more!
